DATA TRANSPARENCY

Where this data comes from

All pricing data comes from two public sources: hospital machine-readable files (MRFs) published under federal price transparency rules (45 CFR Part 180) and CMS Medicare fee schedules. These are the same files hospitals are legally required to make available to the public. We do not estimate, model, or fabricate any prices.

Our data is always changing

We continuously add new hospitals and update existing sources as hospitals publish new pricing files. This means the numbers in your report may differ from a report run on a different date. We display the data publication date for each source so you can see how recent the information is.

Automated processing

Our pipeline automatically downloads, parses, and normalizes hospital pricing files. While we have quality checks in place, hospital files vary widely in format and completeness. Occasionally, data may be parsed incorrectly or a hospital may publish inaccurate information in their files. If something looks wrong, it may be a data quality issue rather than a reflection of actual pricing.

What this report is not

This report is a data aggregation tool, not medical, legal, or financial advice. The prices shown are published market rates — they do not account for your specific insurance plan, deductible, out-of-pocket maximum, or medical circumstances. No specific savings amount is guaranteed. We encourage you to use this data as one input in your decision-making alongside advice from qualified professionals.

Reporting issues

If you believe any data in your report is inaccurate, please contact us. We investigate every report and correct data quality issues promptly. Our goal is to provide the most accurate, transparent pricing information possible.
